Livita + Henry {Los Angeles Session} - Part 1

Livita and Henry were on a vacation here in the U.S. from Bandung, Indonesia to visit Livita's sister who lives in Los Angeles. Prior to their coming here, her sister arranged an engagement session for them since they are getting married sometime mid year in Indonesia. We did some casual photos as well as a pre-wedding portrait sessions Indonesian style (in a wedding dress and a suit) at several different gorgeous spots in Los Angeles during my visit there last month. I had so much fun photographing this lovely couple...they were fun, sweet and so easy to work with! So, I decided to post some of the first part of their e-session this week and the rest will follow next week. Hope you enjoy and have a fabulous weekend!

Miho + Kelly {Los Angeles Engagement Session}

Miho and Kelly met each other at UCLA Campus Fellowship. Shortly after graduation, Miho had to go back to Japan, her homecountry. Not until after she went back home that they started their relationship long-distance. But it was all worth the wait - Kelly proposed to her when she made a trip back to the US last month.

Miho had to go back home again to Japan afterwards but only for a little while because they are planning to exchange their marriage vows sometime mid year. As a friend of Miho, I could not happier for both of them that they found each other! On top of that - I had the chance to have engagement photos done for them during my trip to Los Angeles. Thanks for the opportunity Miho and Kelly and glad we got to hang out that day!

Pasadena Family Session

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas a few days ago! We had a white Christmas here in Colorado! Just in time after I returned from my brief trip to Los Angeles a week ago photographing several photo sessions. Here is my first session in a beautiful Pasadena garden/Los Angeles area with Tammy and her family. They wanted a more formal approach to the pictures so everyone dressed up and looked sharp! Top that with the beautiful colorful Southern California leaves - I was a happy photographer! :) Here are some of my fave from the photo session that morning. Enjoy!

Michaela {Los Angeles Portrait Session}

Michaela and I connected in an unusual way. She knows somebody that happens to be my friend's friend and found out that I was going to be in LA a few weeks ago. So, after many email conversations between us, I finally met her that morning in person.

Michaela is an aspiring filmmaker - she is young, passionate and has a calm, easygoing confidence about her. These characteristics shine through my photo session with her. She definitely brought her experiences with a huge camera by posing fearlessly in front of my lens - it was such a breeze photographing her. Loved it!

Irene + Johan {Los Angeles Engagement Session}

When I heard the news that Irene got engaged (through a mutual friend), I was very happy and excited for her - a congratulation was in order, for sure. We went to college together in Arizona and were in the same circle of friends. A few months afterwards, I got even more excited when she contacted and decided to book me to photograph her wedding in September! What an honor it is and definitely connects with me in a personal level as a friend and a photographer.

Long story short, Irene and her new fiance Johan flew from Kansas to California to shoot her engagement session with me and we had a half-day engagement session in different places in Los Angeles. I always love the different settings LA has to offer and this couple was such great sports for it too.
